The trail run to the northernmost point of Mallorca, the Cap de Formentor, also known as the “meeting point of the winds”, starts from the large car park at Hotel Formentor. The Formentor peninsula impresses with a steep coastline and the highest point Fumart (384 m), on which the historic Far de Formentor lighthouse stands. It was built in 1860—63 and is one of 13 lighthouses in Mallorca.
The trail first leads across a flat, fenced nature reserve. A first highlight is the quiet Cala Muro, a hidden bay. The route then climbs along the historic Cami Vell del Far in many bends to Coll de la Creu (285 m). The narrow peninsula offers spectacular views of the cliffs on both sides.
After around 16 kilometers and 630 meters of altitude, you reach the lighthouse. From here, there are impressive views of the open sea and the coastline. Before returning, a restaurant invites you to stop for refreshments. The way back to the starting point is easy by bus.
